Prof. Natalia Chechko
Since 01/2019, Prof. Natalia Chechko has been a Professor of Experimental Neuropsychiatry and a leading Senior Physician in the department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at University Hospital Aachen. She studied human medicine at Johannes Guttenberg University in Mainz, Germany (graduation 2006) and journalism at Lomonosov University in Moscow (graduation 1998). Between 01/06/2006 and 31/05/2008, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Psychiatry, Munich, and between 1/07/2015 and 30/06/2017, a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Medicine, Research Center Jülich.
Prof. Chechko's experience as a psychiatrist has been substantive, with several years of her clinical work having been devoted to the treatment of depression. Her research in basic theoretical neuroscience is closely linked to the clinical aspects of gender medicine, longitudinal multimodal investigation of postpartum neuroplasticity and the attendant risks, as well as the modulatory factors and the predictors of postpartum depression. In addition to authoring, to date, 37 papers on functional and structural neuroimaging and clinical translation, Prof. Chechko has been actively involved in disseminating relevant, up-to-date medical knowledge as widely as possible by participating in national (within Germany) and international conferences and public debates. |
